International Break: Part Two

Just a quick update before we get back into the action.

Owen Garvan will be back against Watford on Saturday.

KG is back in training following his hamstring injury.
Palace fans will be happy to hear that Owen Garvan has recovered from his knee injury and is back in full training. The midfield man had a great start to the season but was put out of action for an estimated four to six weeks when he twisted his knee in training shortly after the Blackpool game, in which he replaced David Wright on the 78th minute. The Irishman is expected to return against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday, which is the team he scored a brace against last season at Selhurst Park.

In addition to Garvan's return, Kagisho "KG" Dikcagoi will return to training this week. The South African was sidelined after a hamstring injury he gained during Palace's phenomenal comeback against Coventry City in August. During this game, KG was playing in an unfamiliar right-winged role but put in his all nonetheless. Dikcagoi will have a hard time finding his spot in the side when he makes his return, which is expected against Watford, as the Palace midfield is packed with talent, although the different partnerships in the center of the park have been altered on several occasions this season, manager Dougie Freedman may be struggling to find a solid central midfield combo. So despite being an International class player, KG is not guaranteed a spot in the side, which looks good for Palace.

The only injury left to clear for Crystal Palace now his defender Lee Hills' cruciate knee ligament injury. Hills began running a few weeks ago after almost two years out of action but was told to slow it down again so as not to put more strain on the injury. This will mean that Crystal Palace have a full strength side when they come toe to toe with Watford on Saturday as Nathaniel Clyne's been training over the last two weeks, following his broken foot.

The preview for Crystal Palace's away fixture with Watford will be up by the end of the week, so please keep checking back.
